Sheq Advisor

**About the Role**
Ventia are currently seeking to engage a SHEQ Advisor to work on one of our long-term contracts with the Department of Transport. This full-time role will see you based at our East Fremantle office working Monday - Friday with some occasional metro travel.

As the SHEQ Advisor you will be required to deliver on the SHEQ requirements of the program utilising systems and process to foster an integrated approach to SHEQ management in delivering on legal, contractual and business requirements.

**Duties will include but not limited to**:

- Inform and implement Safety Management Plans across the project
- Undertake aspects of Environment and Quality function
- Undertake investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.
- Implementing processes to ensure communication and compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures including fostering a culture of ‘safety and health above all else’
- Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are maintained and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements
- Ensuring that the Ventia “Critical Risk Protocols” are embedded in the project through Leaders.
- Promoting the participation of all people in achieving a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment
- Assist in delivering the audit program
- Develop and deliver safety related training when required including new starter induction, tool box talks and pre start meetings

**Skills & Experience**:

- Tertiary Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent
- Formal training in incident investigation
- Have suitable experience as a safety professional in industrial safety and possess the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture
- Ability to implement and manage a collaborative workplace culture
- Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a utility or infrastructure project environment
- Experience in Occupational Hygiene.
