We have an exciting position for a qualified Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner who can provide clinical expertise in implementing behaviour support interventions.

The Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner is responsible for providing clinical expertise and leadership in implementing positive behaviour support interventions, utilising contemporary practice, working within a framework of positive behavior support (PBS), and providing leadership, clinical mentoring and support to the team around PBS.
The position will work closely with the Executive Manager and Clinical Team Leader -Therapy and Health to ensure quality clinical expertise is harnessed and utilised to deliver inclusive and contemporary Therapy and Health Services.

**Your Key Responsibilities will include**:
- Manage a clinical portfolio requiring positive behaviour support interventions and discipline specific interventions, utilising contemporary practice supported by clinical evidence, within a person/family centred approach and systems context.
- Ensures customers and families have input into service planning
- Has a strong understanding of a range of models and strategies to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions that influence behaviours of concern.
- Provide intervention within a range of contexts including home, school, community, in order to support inclusive community access, as required.
- Provide discipline specific intervention
- Work in conjunction with the Clinical Team - Therapy and Health to provide effective leadership, coaching, guidance and development relevant to positive behaviour support.
- Work with relevant Primary Therapy staff to identify and provide support and professional development
- Provide advice and input regarding the impact of sector and state issues on service delivery.
- Undertakes formal performance management and development for relevant Primary Therapy/Clinical staff.
- Maintain a safe and healthy workplace for the team and customers
- Build, foster and maintain good community relationships to assist customers in accessing wider community supports and assist relevant Primary Therapy and Health staff to do so.
- Maintain knowledge base of contemporary community and service delivery matters.
- Work collaboratively as a team with other Clinical staff in Therapy and health Services to ensure consistency and excellence in all areas.
**About you**:
- Demonstrated experience of working with people with psychosocial disability, families, and carers within a systems context
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of dignity, respect, inclusion empowerment, confidentiality and strength-based practice.
- Demonstrated experience in ensuring customer and staff confidentiality
- Significant experience working with people with a disability who have high support needs
- Ability to develop, prepare, present and evaluate training packages for individuals and groups.
- Extensive experience in using a range of models and strategies to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions that influence behaviours of concern (e.g., positive behaviour support).
- Understanding and commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement, including clinical support and mentoring.
- Advanced skills in working in an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to think creatively and use initiative, to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence and other documents.
- High level communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills
- Extensive experience in implementing, assessing and reviewing interventions within a positive behaviour framework, utilizing a range of models and strategies for people with complex behavioural needs.
- Ability and/ or experience in leading a team to achieve customer/family and intervention outcomes, providing information, education and consultative support to team members in relation to positive behaviour support.
- High level communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to relate to service users and families on an individual level whilst displaying behaviours, attitudes and values congruent with the organization’s expressed values.
- Skills in report writing
**Salary**: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
