Your opportunity

**As Head of Department - Student Services, you will**:

- Promote an inclusive culture and practices within the college's Middle School and Senior School (Years 6-12) to ensure equity and excellence for students experiencing barriers to learning, especially those with a disabling condition.
- Develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disabling conditions in accordance with related legislation and policies.
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

The Head of Department - Student Services is accountable to and under the direction of the Deputy Principal (Inclusion).
About the role
As Head of Department - Student Services you will have responsibility for:

- Working with Deputy Principal (Inclusion) to lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support in relation to students experiencing barriers to learning.
- Assisting the Deputy Principal (Inclusion) in collaboratively and strategically leading an interdisciplinary team comprising Year Level Inclusion Coordinators, Special Support Coordinators and teacher aides to delivery responsive support to students and classroom teachers.
- Providing high quality advice to the college leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabling conditions.
- Coordinating and providing intensive targeted support for students requiring intervention.
- Providing, supporting and/or coordinating case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
- Supporting classroom teachers and other school staff to access departmental or other external specialist services, professional development, and supports as needed.
- Participating in school decision making processes as well as professional development to contribute to school goals, vision and planning.
- Implementing and coordinating school-wide systems including data systems to monitor students with disabling conditions and record the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
- Forming and maintaining partnerships with parents, other government agencies, and community groups to support students with disabling conditions.
- Managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve goals.
