Role Overview
Activated Concepts’ Therapeutic and Behavioural Specialists are clinical leaders in trauma-informed assessments, interventions, plans, training, and reviews. They practice with a trauma-informed lens, in a person-centred manner with the participant, their family, and other relevant stakeholders. This is to provide comprehensive psychosocial and behavioural assessments and support plans that have the least intrusive/restrictive actions possible.

Activated Concepts’ Therapeutic and Behavioural Specialists work with youth, people with a disability and others to assess functioning and needs to support the participant achieve their individual goals, dreams and aspirations as well as enhance their participation in the community.

Key Duties
Utilising a trauma-informed and person-centred evidence-based recovery-approach
A sound understanding of the NDIS Commission, including the NDIS restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support Rules 2018
Completing and documenting comprehensive assessments and reports of support needs, areas for development, strengths and current capabilities
Experience in completing Psychosocial Assessments, Functional Behavioural Assessments, which consider the strengths of the person, ABC of behaviour and engage the important networks in participants world to complete a holistic assessment and see them in their context
Development, completion, lodging and implementation of Positive Behavioural Support Plans (PBSP) to assist the participant to meet their goals
A commitment to utilising least restrictive means including the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices wherever possible.
About You
Essential Criteria

Applicants must outline that they;
Have a relevant degree in Human Services (Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing, Psychology, Social Science etc) and registration with the associated regulatory body and;
Have current registration with the NDIS Commission as a ‘Core’ or higher Behavioural Support Practitioner and;
Have a minimum of two years’ experience working in trauma-informed care and with psychosocial disabilities in the health, education, justice, disability, out-of-home-care and/or specialist homelessness sector etc and;
Have experience in completing psychosocial and functional and/or behaviour assessments, which focus on recovery, engage the family/stakeholders and see the participant in their context and;
Have clear and effective communication skills and ability to establish a professional relationship with participant and their families and;
Have a valid drivers license and comprehensive insurance and;
Have a valid police check (within the last 12 months), Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Clearance and;
Are up-to-date with their COVID vaccination status or have a valid exemption and;
Are aligned with Activated Concepts values.
