**PURCHASING OFFICER**

Handy Industries is a privately owned Australian company that specializes in both postforming and cut-to-size kitchen componentry. Located in Kingston, this full time role is available for an experienced purchasing officer with positive attitude and high level of initiative and responsibility.

We are seeking a reliable purchasing officer that takes pride in delivering quality coordination services, even on the days with hiccups, to join our friendly team.

This role will see you undertaking all of the following:

- Request tenders and quotes
- Source and correspond with new suppliers and contractors
- Follow up with suppliers, staff and contractors
- Liaise with freight forwarders on supply of shipping documentation
- Draft and issue of purchase orders
- Receipt goods and services, checking costs and ensuring goods/services have been received
- Filing documentation in line with company policy and procedures.
- Ordering and picking hardware
- Communicating with suppliers, external and internal customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner

Skills & experience required to succeed in this role include:

- Previous experience in purchasing roles and factory environments
- High Level of attention to detail
- A commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of relevant legislation
- Be able to take initiative within the role
- 3 years of purchasing experience, or a combination of purchasing experience, planning, and freight forwarding experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- A positive energy & enthusiasm for your work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with subcontractors, suppliers and clients
- Problem solving abilities
- Ability to prioritise and to process a high-volume of tasks over multiple jobs.

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kingston, QLD 4114: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
