2025 Traineeship - Business Administration

**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
Cumberland City Council is proud to offer a Traineeship with our Corporate Services directorate in line with the 'fresh start for local government apprentices, trainees and cadets' in conjunction with the NSW Government. This traineeship offers a combination of on-the-job work experience combined with the completion of a nationally recognised qualification, Cartificate III in Business Administration, through TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

The Trainee - Business Administration role will be responsible for providing high level administrative support to the teams within the Corporate Performance directorate. The successful applicant will undertake their learning on a rotation through various teams within the Directorate including Customer Experience and Technology, Strategic Communications, Finance, and Strategy and Improvement Units.

The successful applicant will require:

- Completed Higher School Certificate and/or demonstrated experience enabling the completion of tertiary study
- Demonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public and other workers
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Possess administrative and organisational skills, including attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.

**About this role**:

- 1 x term contract, full-time position for a period of up to two (2) years
- 35 hour week, working from 8:30am to 4:30pm
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Merrylands Administration Office, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- This position is placed in Cumberland's Trainee Salary Structure with a salary range of $639.97 to 882.66 per week, dependent upon the level of school achieved, and 11.5% superannuation
