**About the role**
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are a vital part of our community, and we are committed to attracting, developing, and retaining them as part of our workforce.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Retention Advisor sits within our People Experience team and provides culturally sensitive support to our First Nations workforce while driving outcomes in our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Retention Plan. You will contribute to providing sustainable employment pathways for future and existing First Nations employees by creating development opportunities within our business.
You will also work closely with our Aboriginal and Community engagement team to support our reconciliation efforts as outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan and help lead our RAP steering committee and leaders forum.
- Along with this you will also be responsible for the following:
- Be accountable for leading the attraction strategy for First Nations employees to SA Water.
- Provide coaching and support to all First Nations employees to ensure they have access to all HR needs and programs that we offer
- Enhance opportunities for personal and professional development of our First Nations
- employees to enable retention and further enhancement opportunities
- Provide advice on culturally sensitive and complex topics to stakeholders including Senior Managers and People Partnering
- Work with Talent Acquisition, People Partnering and stakeholders to remove barriers within our recruitment and HR processes
- Establish relationships with First Nations organisations, institutions and communities that provide training and employment opportunities
- Represent SA Water at community events such as Power Cup, Tauondi open days, career expos, NAIDOC and Reconciliation week events.
- Management of SA Water reporting including diversity and inclusion metrics, training and development metrics as well as being involved in SA Water’s RAP plans.
**About the Person**
- Key requirements of the role include:
- Demonstrated experience in managing, coordinating and/or implementing diversity workforce programs and initiatives
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to a diversity of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues
- Proven ability to act with integrity on sensitive organisational and personal matters
- High level of written and verbal communication
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Human Resources Management or wider management highly advantageous but not essential
