We are seeking experienced horticulturalists & arboriculturists to join our growing team and lead the tree team to create the best parks and open spaces in Australia.

**About the role**

As Team Leader you will be responsible for leading the tree team to deliver arboriculture services that ensure the maintenance and improvement of Parramatta’s Street trees, parks, and open spaces to enhance the appearance of our great city

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carry out horticultural & arboriculture activities to ensure the City of Parramatta’s parks are presented to the highest standards.
- Make decisions and implement work practices in line with best practices of the Horticulture/Arboriculture/Greenkeeping, trade and industry.
- Mentor staff within the team and undertake on-the-job training for the team.
- Undertake the day-to-day management of staff and their assigned tasks.
- Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs.

**About You**

The successful applicant will have previous experience in leading teams, particularly in arboriculture services. As the team leader you will be responsible for overseeing team operations, assigning tasks, planning of works, establishing goals, encouraging open communication and be able to distribute information amongst the team.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum certificate III qualification in Horticulture, relevant to position/area of specialisation (arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, nursery and sports turf management).
- Certificate I and II in Chainsaw Operations
- Hold a current NSW MR Driver’s License
- White Card
- Elevated Work Platform

**What’s on offer**:
This is a Permanent Full-Time position.
- Monday-Friday
- 6:00am-3:00pm
- 38 hours per week
- Fortnightly rostered day off

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $75,922 to $83,609 plus 11.5% Superannuation.

This position will attract allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, this could include the Adverse Working Conditions Level Allowance & First Aid Allowance.
