About the role

We are seeking a values driven Thrift Shop Assistant to provide assistance to the Thrift Shop Manager and Assistant Thrift Shop Manager, ensure maximisation of sales and productivity, coordinate and supervise volunteers (when required).

You will successfully
- Maximise sales and revenue through processing of donations to the store by receiving, sorting, pricing, hanging of saleable goods and disposal of non-saleable goods
- Deliver excellence in customer service by responding to customer needs, and actively seeking opportunities to connect customers to TSA mission
- Ensure that that the shops operate efficiently and effectively in the absence of the managers
- Supervise volunteers in the absence of the Assistant Manger
- Provide supervisory assistance to the Assistant Manager and Shop Manager
- Monitor shop for security purposes
- Assist Thrift Shop Manager with reporting and administration duties (when required)
- POS is used in accordance with policies
- Ensure a safe workplace through the ongoing promotion of work health and safety standards
- Thrift shop remains clean and tidy each day (includes dusting, window cleaning, vacuuming; both interior and exterior of store to be maintained)
- Report any property or equipment damage to the Thrift Shop Manager or Assistant Thrift Shop Manager

This is a part-time permanent role, based in Castlemaine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General retail Level 2.

You will have
- Relevant Retail experience
- Experience in supervision (highly desirable)
- Qualifications in retail management (highly desirable)
- A National Police Record Check is required.
- Physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of time
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight.
- Physical ability to climb ladders.
