**About the role**:
We currently have two (2) opportunities for experienced **Domestic & Family Violence Specialist Workers **to join our growing Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS) in Artarmon office.
We have 2 opportunities in this space and can offer one role at 5 days a week and the second role is for someone looking for flexible, part time hours, 4 days a week. Both roles are fixed term contracts until 30th June 2025 and will require some travel between sites to meet clients needs.
Both roles provide high level advice to clients referred to WDVCAS in a timely and appropriate manner, to ensure the program is relevant, accessible and responsive to women and children who are experiencing or at risk of domestic & family violence.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Contacting clients referred to WDVCAS in a timely and appropriate manner, conducting a threat assessment to ascertain their current risk status and undertaking safety planning to address a client’s immediate safety needs.
- Liaising with the SAM Coordinator to ensure all clients assessed as ‘at serious threat’ are placed on the agenda for the next SAM when necessary.
- Accepting electronic referrals from the Central Referral Point and non-electronic referrals direct from government agencies and non-government services.
- Assisting the SAM Coordinator to develop and administer policies, systems and processes for the effective operation of WDVCAS and SAMs.
- Attending court days as required to provide information, assistance and court advocacy for clients.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key partners including NSW Police Force, Local Courts, legal representatives and referral agencies.
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Demonstrated understanding of domestic and family violence, its complexities and consequences.
- Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic violence and other related issues.
- Strong ability to engage effectively with clients in crisis and provide appropriate, trauma-informed support.
- Ability to deliver services in accordance with the WDVCAP model of service delivery outlined in the WDVCAP Service Agreement.
- Ability to work with the local community to promote awareness of domestic and family violence and WDVCAS service.
- Excellent networking and communication skills.
- Great organisational and administrative skills.
- Current NSW Driver’s License and access to an insured vehicle.
