The Associate Actuarial Analyst role provides insightful analysis of factors that influence claim outcomes and financial outcomes across the EML business activities that they are assigned responsibility for.

This would involve development and maintenance of high-quality operational tracking and financial forecasting models, analysis and interpretation of data, and timely identification and communication of risks.

This will be a permanent, full time position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review background material and seek up-front guidance to understand required tasks before commencing them.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the benefit structures, business issues, remuneration arrangements, and tracking measures for those parts of the business served.
- In collaboration with other team members, develop, maintain and, where appropriate enhance performance tracking and forecasting across a range of financial, operational, and service standard metrics as dictated by business needs and EML’s remuneration arrangements under contracts for third party business.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the Actuarial Team and contribute to the relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Present confidently, point of view/findings in preparation for performance discussion in review forums.

ABOUT YOU
- A recently completed or close to university degree in an area such as Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Econometrics or Engineering.
- Competency with SAS/SQL, and, Excel, R and PowerBI would be highly desirable.
- Experience in a general insurance or an actuarial consulting setting is advantageous however not required.
- A interest in working in a complex organisation to grow and develop your actuarial skills.
