**About the Role**

Based in BYD's **Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane**, this role will support our **Procurement** team for an upcoming new brand.** **On offer is a Purchasing Specialist position and your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:

- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality materials and services at the best prices.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure optimal agreements for the company.
- Research and source products, materials, and services that meet the company’s quality standards and cost requirements.
- Issue purchase orders and follow through on the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements.
- Ensure that all agreements are legally compliant and aligned with the company’s policies and goals.
- Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Implement cost-reduction strategies, such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, or long-term contracts.
- Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, including quality, reliability, and delivery.
- Perform vendor audits to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical practices.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements in all procurement processes.
- Work closely with other departments, including production, finance, and quality control, to ensure that procurement activities align with the company’s objectives.
- Address any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost with the appropriate internal teams and suppliers.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and market conditions.
- Analyze procurement data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.

**Key requirements**:

- Strong knowledge of supply chain management and sourcing practices and processes
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and Divisions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and adapt to changing market conditions
