The University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) is seeking its next Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVCA) to lead the strategic development and operational delivery of the university’s academic goals. The DVCA will work collaboratively to achieve the University’s vision, mission and strategic directions, under the direction of the Vice-Chancellor and President, and as a member of the Executive leadership team.
**About the University**:The University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) is a young university with the ambition to become Australia’s premier regional university. It is not limited by tradition or old ways of thinking. It is one of Australia’s fastest growing universities and is highly rated by students with a strong record of graduates gaining employment within a few months of completing their programs. The arrival of a new Vice-Chancellor and President in the second half of 2020 led to the development of a new vision for UniSC. The University has more than 18,000 enrolled students and offers hands-on learning and flexible study options across more than 120 higher education programs. Programs of study carefully match the needs of its regional communities across five campuses, while preparing its graduates for work close to home or away.
**About the role**:The DVCA is responsible for the leadership and general management of the University’s Schools; planning, coordination, quality and delivery of academic programs; academic performance and scholarship; and financial and budgetary oversight. Responsibilities include ensuring a high-performance culture across all Schools which enables research, education, community engagement and innovation to flourish. The DVCA has 10 direct reports including the five Deans of Schools; Dean Academic; Director of the Centre for Service, Learning and Teaching; Director of Library Services; and General Manager Academic Support Unit. The DVCA will also have an opportunity to work with the Vice-Chancellor and President on further refinements to this portfolio.
