Disability Support Worker

We are expanding our team and seeking a YOUNG, FIT MALE Support Worker to ensure excellent support for our young clients with complex needs, a neurological disability and challenging behaviors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Community Access & Engagement: Assist a child with community participation, facilitating structured social activities, outings, and appointments to enhance social skills and confidence.
- Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide meaningful companionship, fostering a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for a child with neurological disabilities.
- Respite Care: Provide relief to caregivers, ensuring the child is safe and supported during the caregiver’s absence.
- Behavior Management: Confidently manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, implementing restrictive practices in line with the child's care plan and behavioral strategies.
- Compliance: Adhere to operational guidelines and reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with the child’s care plan.

**Requirements**:

- Cert 3 or above in Disability/Aged Care/Individual Support.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with disabilities, particularly managing behaviors of concern.
- Proven experience in supporting children with extreme behaviors and neurological disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and checks (WWCC, NDIS screening, First Aid, CPR).

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3 per week

- Shift work
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:
