**The Company**

Elf Farm Supplies, a fourth generation 100% Australian owned family business, produces mushroom compost which is manufactured from recycled agricultural materials, including wheaten straw, poultry manure, stable bedding, gypsum and other nitrogen rich products, which are combined with a well-engineered environment to produce a high-quality product.

Their mushroom compost accounts for 70% of NSW’s total mushroom production, and 25% of the country’s production with their expertise being gained from over 60 years in the industry, having developed refinements to the composting processes that are now used throughout the world.

**The Position**

Due to the retirement of the General Manager, Elf Farm Supplies are now looking to appoint a General Manager who will oversee the composting operation. The position is customer facing with responsibility for managing and getting the best out of a workforce of approximately 30.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this will be a hands-on and proactive position that requires somebody to have oversight of the manufacturing to help manage and improve the consistency of the product but also be strategic in approach and enjoy working on the business rather than in it, with responsibility to focus on developing management capabilities and improving operational effectiveness across the business.

**The Person**

We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following key skills and attributes:

- Proven GM level commercial management experience in a manufacturing business, ideally with exposure to composting/agriculture/horticulture/stockfeed/pet food or related sectors
- Ideally, experience working in a management role in a family owned and operated business with a focus on manufacturing, suppliers, customers and operations
- Strong commercial acumen & experience (financial, regulatory, contractual and compliance)
- Proven track record of strong people leadership and enjoy leading and developing teams
- Highly developed skills in building long term sustainable customer and supplier relationships across all levels
- Well-developed strategic thinking and problem-solving ability to execute within a complex environment
- High levels of drive and energy with a proactive work style
- A passion for the highest levels of customer service and product quality
- High levels of integrity and the ability to represent the values and reputation of the business owners
