IES Stormwater Pty Ltd trading as Ocean Protect
commenced operation in 2001.

Our focus is to help protect Australia’s waterways,
estuaries, coastlines, and marine life from the
harmful impacts of urban stormwater. As
urbanisation increases stormwater flows and
contributes to waterway scouring and pollution,
Ocean Protect’s advanced technologies deliver
essential frontline protection, ensuring a healthier
environment for generations to come.

With offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and
satellite locations in Adelaide and Hobart, Ocean
Protect has a vast national reach as well as
extensive high-volume production capabilities.

We provide support and education to councils,
engineers and developers on how best to meet their
stormwater quality and quantity requirements. We
supply cutting-edge products that meet Australia’s
most stringent requirements. We also specialise in
the storage of one of the earth’s most precious
commodities - water. Through our experienced team
and diverse range of products and services, we can
cover our clients’ needs from every angle.

Implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that is aligned with our goals, values, and

target markets. Collaborate with external vendors, including creative agencies, to deliver projects on time and

within scope.

Create relevant and high-quality content and marketing collateral, such as social media posts, newsletters,

articles, brochures, and guidelines.

Optimise the company website in line with SEO best practices in coordination with the web development team.

Analyse marketing performance metrics, providing insights to refine campaigns and achieve business

objectives.

Assist with branding initiatives, ensuring consistent visuals, messaging, and tone across all communication

channels.

Assist with the execution of the Ocean Protect Podcast strategy, and organise and manage online and in
- person events such as webinars, symposiums, and conferences.

Initiate media relations efforts to enhance the company’s reputation, including crafting press releases, securing

media coverage, and responding to public inquiries.

Work closely with a range of teams and staff to support their work, highlighting the important work of the sales

and operations teams, and raising awareness with the advocacy team.

Capture high-quality images and videos from product installation and maintenance activities/projects.

Execute ad-hoc marketing and communications tasks.

**Description**
The purpose of this role is to manage and execute the company's marketing and communication strategies. This

individual will help build brand awareness, assist the sales team with lead generation, manage digital platforms

(e.g. LinkedIn and Meta), and create impactful content that highlights Ocean Protect's expertise in stormwater

treatment and detention.

**Responsibilities**

3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in environmental, engineering, or related industries.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Ads, social
media, and analytics.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate technical
concepts into relatable content.
Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of environmental issues, particularly stormwater management, is highly desirable.

**How We Work**
The work is primarily office-based, although travel to sites may be required from time to time. After

successful completion of the 6-month probation period and necessary training, Ocean Protect

encourages a flexible working environment that allows staff to work part of the week from their

place of choice.
