As a member of Orchard Street management it is very important to hold the space and to create a positive and enriching experience for customers. You will share responsibility in achieving efficient and effective retail operations and achieving the company’s objectives that include;
- Maximise profitability by implementing effective strategies to meet and exceed budgets and closely monitoring payroll expenses and outgoing expenses
- Provide and facilitate a culture that encourages team satisfaction and high performance by focusing on employee engagement, business need generated incentives, culture building events and training and development
- Proactively create, execute and review all aspects of operations, focusing on the customer experience, the efficiencies of the shop and business results, through continuous improvement

**Requirements**:

- BRONTE ONLY: Qualifications in Naturopathic and/or Nutritional and Herbal Medicine
- Retail or hospitality experience
- A passion for healthy lifestyle ‘practising what you preach’
- Strong initiative and the ability to implement systems as required.
- Understanding of common health conditions
- A thorough knowledge and appreciation of the Orchard St. product range.
- The ability to communicate with customers in a warm, approachable and inspiring manner

You will be a professional role model for the operational teams, promoting the highest performance levels and providing a service that is unique and personal. You are responsible for the shop operation on a day-to-day basis. You will implement reward schemes to motivate staff and proactively develop and train the team in order to provide them with the skills and qualities required. You will ensure Orchard St. standards, policies and procedures are maintained consistently and put forward ideas to improve operations.

**Duties & responsibilities, but not limited to**:

- Manage day-to-day operations, including maintenance, products and services offered by utilizing and developing team members
- Creating a welcoming space for customer, suppliers, members of the local community and employees (including management)
- Perform day-to-day operations including: engaging with customers in an open and friendly manner, promoting sales through guidance and gentle education, advising customers on different options in relation to their health queries, booking cleanses into the system
- Following ‘Orchard St. Standards & Procedures’ and ensuring that staff follows these procedures
- Stock control, including bi-weekly ordering
- Managing staff members, helping them develop their skills and taking care of the team
- Reporting to Management weekly regarding customers, stock movements, staff issues, sales performance and any other notable items.
- Handle & resolve customer complaints, following up and informing management
- Monitor the store’s financial performance against budget to achieve the best result
- Implementing sales strategies provided by management and initiating sales strategies to increase the revenue
- Monitor and manage hours worked by staff to ensure efficient use of human resources (within the budget)
- Coordinate the training and personal development of all staff, to ensure adequate staffing and service levels. Assisting with the recruitment and hiring of all staff
- Ensuring that all staff members carry out their duties in line with standards by providing feedback and taking action as required
- Complete project as assigned by management, ensuring deadlines are met
- Liaise with management to ensure a safe environment for customers, employees and onsite visitors
- Maintain and monitor store areas including entrance and surrounding areas so they are kept clean at all times and well maintained
- Monitor personal presentation of employees, ensuring grooming standards are followed
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and personal presentation when on duty as to set an example to employees and monitoring the grooming standards are followed by all staff
- Organize regular team meetings and individual meetings with members of the team
- Document and implement new procedures and practices, ensuring all staff members are adequately informed and trained
- Manage and report financial reports to as requested
- Communicate regularly with other stores
- Work with management to ensure store is compliant with all company guidelines, including workplace health and safety, licensing, fire regulations and essential services
- Lead by example
- At all times ensure compliance with WHS Policies and Procedures and all WHS legislative requirements.
