**About the role**:
Waternish are seeking an experienced, hands-on Engineering Manager to support and oversee the day-day activities of the design team, while also rolling up their sleeves and delving into the detail. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects across the country for high profile clients. To be successful in the role you will demonstrate experience in managing designs from concept through to shop drawings as well as and understanding of construction challenges and how these can be solved or simplified in the design process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide effective maintenance and troubleshooting support to the site and the implementation of reliability strategies to ensure agreed standards
- Manage the day-to-day workflows and productivity.
- Liaise with Engineering Director on team matters and performance
- Ensure the standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and time schedules are met
- Liaise with other departments in the preparation of tenders, plans and forecasts and to also provide meaningful feedback and recommendations on process improvements
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the Quality process and system.

Your ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, influence and build credible relationships at all levels of the business will be critical to your success, as will be your “can do” attitude and ability to both lead and deliver. You will also demonstrate:

- Bachelor of Engineering
- At least 12 years' experience in engineering and design management
- A strong ability to draw, interpret and convey complex designs
- Knowledgeable in sound engineering fundamentals and strong analytical skills
- Innovative thinker, highly adaptable and responsive to achieving deadlines
- Advanced client, people, communication and management skills
- Experienced in leading and growing high performing technical teams whilst still being adaptable and able to provide innovative solutions and thinking to meet deadlines
- A hands-on approach, initiative and a drive for business success and growth.
