- The total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 months Advanced Trainee Paediatric Endocrinology will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
**About the Opportunity**
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the **Diabetes and Endocrinology**team as an** Advanced Trainee,**where you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the provision of clinical services for WCHN inpatients and outpatients under consultant supervision within the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Participating in the after-hours on-call roster with consultant support as second on-call
- Attending and managing two Endocrine clinics and one Diabetes clinic per week
- Providing ward service and participating in after-hours care
- Teaching and supervising Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs) and medical students
- Participating in the Department’s teaching and continuing education programs
- Engaging in research and/or quality improvement projects
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent,
- Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
- Satisfactorily completed RACP Basic Paediatric Training requirements and progressed to Advanced Trainee
- Ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and/or high workloads
- Problem solving and decision-making skills (both clinical and individual)
