**Your new company**
Hays are proud to be partnering with TasTAFE in their search for a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team on a 5-year fixed term contract. TasTAFE are a government business and is Tasmania’s largest provider of vocational education and training. With a focus on practical, real-life learning, they work closely with industry to produce job-ready and highly valued graduates.

**Your new role**
Based in the Hobart CBD, as a key member of the Executive you’ll be reporting directly to the CEO. The CFO oversees all aspects of the financial management of the business along with ICT, Facilities and Assets, and Project Management Services. The CFO plays a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction of TasTAFE, ensuring that the financial performance of the business is meeting the expectations of all relevant stakeholders. To do this successfully you will:

- In consultation with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, develop and execute the strategic and commercial direction of the business
- Lead teams with passion ensuring a collaborative and a strategic approach
- Drive business performance by developing new systems, strategies, and business process across Finance and Assets, ICT and capital works projects
- Have a continual process improvement focus, to ensure efficiency gains, and excellent internal control
- Lead project work as required

**What you'll need to succeed**
As a proven leader within a complex and changing environment, you’ll have a history of leading a finance team focused on delivery and outcomes. You’ll have the ability to bring a strategic approach to the Executive Team, while still being able to manage and focus teams on ensuring that the Finance, ICT, and Asset teams are operating with efficiencies and best practice. You’ll have experience reporting to a Board and bring a commercial focus and have proven experience in a CFO role or reporting directly into a CFO looking for your first CFO opportunity. An understanding of the Government relationships is desirable. Other requirements include: Essential Requirements
- Post graduate Qualifications such as CA/CPA
- Have extensive Senior Management leadership experience working in a complex and regulated environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills that will help engage right across the business beyond the immediate finance team
- Enjoying leading, and supporting transformation of broad workforces
