Are you passionate about working with young people and making a lasting impact in the community? Glenorchy City Council is seeking a dynamic and motivated **Youth Engagement Officer** to join our team.

**About the Role**

As our Youth Engagement Officer, you will be on the ground, actively connecting with young people in the Glenorchy area through meaningful engagement and capacity-building initiatives. Your role will focus on fostering strong relationships, building pathways to external support services, and developing innovative youth-focused projects that empower young people to take initiative and thrive.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- A tertiary qualification in a related field or equivalent demonstrated experience, with at least three (3) years in a similar role.
- A natural ability to build trust and establish rapport with young people while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- A motivating presence that encourages young people to take initiative, develop confidence, and strengthen their own capabilities.
- An understanding of community development principles, trauma-informed practice, and youth engagement approaches that support health, wellbeing, and resilience.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to work effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as external partners and community groups.

**Qualifications required**:

- Driver’s Licence
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP)

**Position Hours**:**Full-Time, 75 hours fortnight.

**Salary range**:$74,397.57 to $87,586.17 plus 15% superannuation
