**Data Analyst**

**Summary**
As a Data Analyst under the direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will play a crucial role in supporting data management, insights, and analytical activities for our organisation. This position involves working on various data sources related to general insurance, including policy data, claims data, resilience and hazard data, to provide valuable insights for policy development, member services, and organisational strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and manage a data intelligence strategy, encompassing general insurance, natural hazard, financial performance, climate change, and other statistical datasets to support policy development.
- Maintain analytical processes over managed or accessible data to generate insights that aid in the development of robust policy positions.
- Build and maintain an industry member network to enhance member services, engagement, and organisational strategy.
- Assist in developing new datasets aligned with member interests, particularly focusing on Insurance Affordability, Resilience, and Climate Change concerns.
- Support General Managers in achieving data strategies and objectives in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Provide and present insights and visualization capabilities, including the utilisation of relevant GIS datasets, to support policy directorates.
- Collaborate internally to stay informed about key developments in insurance and risk-related areas.
- Prioritise tasks to align with corporate goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

**Skills, Qualifications, and Experience**
- Experience in Geospatial systems is desirable.
- Proficiency with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Knowledge of data management software and techniques, with essential Microsoft SQL skills.
- Advanced capabilities in data management and statistical languages (R or Python are advantageous).
- Expertise in Microsoft suite of products.
- Excellent communication skills to foster seamless operational support and build strong relationships.
- Ability to drive outcomes and assist in resolving escalated or critical incidents.
- Capability to identify and engage effectively, establishing collaborative trusted working relationships.
- General Insurance experience is highly desirable.
