Your Opportunity
As a TAFE Teacher (Automotive), you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future tradespersons by teaching your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or educational setting.
We are looking for someone with current industry experience, knowledge and qualifications in the Electro-technology trade to join our teaching team.
You will contribute to developing and delivering quality learning, teaching and assessment to a wide range of clients through:
- Outcome focussed vocational education and training (VET) programs;
- Linking with industry, schools, universities, community, other TAFE and VET providers;
- Maintaining currency with industry practices, workplace delivery and contemporary teaching methodologies and philosophies; and
- Working in an environment of ongoing change and continuous improvement.
This position will be offered on a Fixed-Term Temporary basis, unless otherwise determined.
The TAFE Teacher (Automotive) reports to the Educational Team Leader.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess relevant formal vocational qualifications;
- AUR30420 - Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology
- AUR31220 - Certificate III in Mobile Plant technology
- MEM31419 - Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed and Mobile Mechanic
The following is also required;
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided; and
- Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
- TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
- TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
- TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
- TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
- A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
**Highly Desirable**:
- AUR31120 - Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical
- AUR30320 - Certificate III Automotive Electrical technology
Salary
The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $81,867 - $109,586 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.
