australia melbourne contract geelong/wfh hybrid, great teamWorking for this large government body as an IT Security Analyst will see ensure the management of cyber security of the organisation’s information systems, networks and data.

Your role will be to provide support to ensure the organisation’s security policy and practices are implemented and are commensurate with the evolving cyber security landscape. In addition you will be responsible for supporting the management of the end-to-end vulnerability and cyber threat management.

**Key activities**
- Operational security management and administrative services, including but not limited to, the authorisation and monitoring of access to IT systems or infrastructure, the investigation of unauthorised access and compliance with relevant legislation
- Perform security risk, vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis for medium complexity information systems
- Maintain security administration processes and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures
- Investigate security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommends required actions
- Coordinate and manages planning of penetration tests, within a defined area of business activity
- Deliver objective insights into the existence of vulnerabilities, the effectiveness of defences and mitigating controls
- Manage all test processes, and contributes to corporate security testing standards

**Skills and experience**
- Previous experience in a similar role, managing the end-to-end delivery of IT Security services in a multi sourced environment
- Highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with strong customer focus and ability to understand issues, manage expectations, gain agreement, resolve conflicts and translate technical information into business language
- Demonstrated experience in influencing business and other stakeholders to drive positive service outcomes and the ability to influence
- Experience managing IT security in an environment that is constantly changing and evolving to meet customer needs, including the growing move to cloud computing (IAAS and SAAS)
- Experience managing request and incident management processes in an ITIL environment
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills to drive improvements in innovation and service quality
