
Medical Receptionist

The main roles and responsibilities include:
- Providing a high level of customer service, support and assistance to our patients
- Greeting patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Accept patient payments and perform billings including but not limited to Medicare and DVA
- Scheduling appointments, sleep studies and other tests performed within the clinic and hospitals
- Answering phone calls in a timely and polite manner
- Managing the appointment schedules and preparing clinic lists for all clinical staff
- Obtaining patients medical records prior to their appointments
- Typing physician consult letters
- Completion of end of day reconciliations (cheques, eftpos, credit card and cash)
- Providing assistance to the Practice Manager as required
The successful applicant must:
- Have previous administration experience
- Have the ability to work well within a team environment and independently
- Be able to exercise discretion and confidentiality in matters regarding patient information
- Have strong computer literacy skills and be confident with the use of various computer programs particularly the Microsoft Suite of Software.
- Have precise and accurate data entering skills
- Be fluent in English both aural and written
- Have a typing speed above 50 words/min
Desirable Attributes:
- Working knowledge of genie medical software
- Previous Medical/hospital experience

- Positive can-do and empathetic attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task and problem solve
- Be able to work in a busy and fast paced environment
- Be dynamic and adaptive to any situation
