Production Horticulture Supervisor

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Production Horticulture Supervisor to join our dedicated team at our farm based in Diggers Rest, VIC 3427.

**Salary**: $68,000 - 78,000 per annum plus superannuation.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supervise all stages of mushroom production, ensuring crop cycles meet scheduled targets for harvest.
- Manage the post-harvest cooling and handling process to maintain optimal quality.
- Oversee and maintain specialized harvesting and packing equipment, ensuring it is always in excellent working condition.
- Liaise with the Management, Horticulture Grower, and Maintenance Supervisor to optimize workflow and address operational needs.
- Monitor crop quality throughout the entire growing and harvesting period to minimize damage and waste.
- Identify and report signs of unusual disease, pests, or competitor moulds to management.
- Coordinate on-site activities, including team schedules and safety protocols.
- Perform essential shed and nursery activities, including substrate preparation and spawn inoculation.
- Regulate environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, CO2) in growing rooms to ensure optimal mushroom development.
- Develop and implement post-harvest programs to ensure the longevity and freshness of the final product.

**The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience**:

- At least AQF Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Leadership and Management, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of pest and disease control, and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Relevant certifications in chemical handling or horticulture are a plus.
