**The Opportunity**:
- The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PEL 1 Assistant Director Planning within Planning and Quality Branch.
The Assistant Director Planning will assist the Director Planning and Innovation with advice and technical expertise to guide and manage project and program activities in the Planning section and across the Finance and Property Services Division where activities link to other sections.
- The position will also manage administrative tasks and support Executives with reporting requirements and ensure alignment to objectives using appropriate benchmarks and financial analysis.

- Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the PEL 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead a small team responsible for short term tactical capital works planning, project scoping and sustainability strategy.
- Ensure the delivery of project outputs, aims and objectives using appropriate benchmarks, financial analysis and complying with departmental policy or relevant legislation.
- Identify key issues associated with the delivery of services and improving operations.
- Prepare a range of written material including business cases, Senate Estimates submissions, agency briefs and corporate documentation.
- Represent the Planning and Quality Branch at the highest levels within DPS, and in dealing with other parliamentary departments, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Lead, promote and implement cultural change and a customer focused culture; and
- Undertake other duties as directed
