About the role
We are seeking a pastoral care practitioner to work on a casual basis across Calvary John James and Bruce Private Hospitals and to cover leave when required at Haydon Retirement Community.
Our practitioners work as part of integrated care teams, establishing pastoral therapeutic relationships, providing emotional and spiritual support and facilitating rituals. Practitioners meet the spiritual and faith needs across all service areas including maternity, surgical, medical, rehabilitation and end of life.
We are currently embedding a spiritual care model alongside the allied health team at Hyson Green, Calvary’s mental health unit, including offering individual and group support for spiritual wellbeing. As part of Calvary’s aim to offer great connected care, we will be expanding spiritual care models in the community setting.
**Your main duties will include**:
Establishing therapeutic pastoral relationships with patients, families and staff from a variety of faith, non-faith and cultural backgrounds.
Identifying spiritual wellbeing needs, planning and putting in place related interventions that respond to these needs.
Maintaining a professional and high quality of service by ensuring that you operate within the expected ethical boundaries and you attend to administration requirements.
About you
Minimum of one basic unit of Clinical Pastoral Education and/or a Pastoral Ministry Course and/or extensive relevant experience in supporting spiritual wellbeing that aligns with Calvary’s mission and values.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, with evidence of using deep listening and empathy to create strong relationships, and an ability to work within an ethical practice framework.
Commitment to your own reflective practice, and personal, spiritual and professional growth.
Commitment to working as part of a team, including participating in and contributing to reflection on action learning opportunities.
Flexibility to work across a Monday to Friday roster and willingness to work in other settings, including residential aged care and community care if required.
