**About the Opportunity**

We’re looking for a driven and future-focused **Account Manager** to join our Food team at Metcash. This role sits at the heart of our independent retail network, supporting stores with strategic planning, operational excellence, and commercial growth. You’ll be the trusted advisor and relationship lead for a portfolio of retailers, helping them thrive in their local communities.

**In this Role**
- Own and manage a portfolio of customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned to customer and Metcash strategies
- Drive commercial outcomes including merchandising activations, campaigns, and digital initiatives
- Provide advisory support across store operations including P&L, rostering, and compliance
- Champion community programs, consumer promotions, and sustainability initiatives
- Ensure adoption of Channel Standards, OEP, and FSA compliance
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver holistic customer support
- Attend key seasonal events such as Expo and Easter activations

**You’re Likely a Match If**
- Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of retail economics (e.g., CODB, margin, pricing)
- Experience working with multi-site or franchise retailers
- Strategic relationship management and influencing skills
- Ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative, proactive, and customer-focused mindset
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and operational excellence
- Demonstrates curiosity and a growth mindset by embracing challenges, actively seeking feedback, and continuously learning from experience.
