Support Worker

**Primary objectives**:
***

Our Support Workers can assist with Daily Household Tasks and give an opportunity for the NDIS Participants and their families to improve their quality of life.

You will Support people in their day-to-day living, ensuring they have opportunities to develop and maintain a valued lifestyle as described within their individual plan.

And you will provide services to individuals which are developed specifically for their needs with a “Person Centred” approach of delivery.

**Primary duties**:
To support people with a disability to meet their goals and actively encourage the person’s participation in decision making about their own program in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

To ensure that people with a disability are in a safe environment and that they are free from any form of abuse or harassment.

To assist with:

- all areas of personal care including feeding, bathing, toileting and grooming.
- participant’s mobility including transfers/hoisting etc
- participant medication or other medical needs adhering to Adelphi Living’s policies and procedures and instructions from medical practitioners
- physical support and assistance to participate in activities and meal preparation with management expectations
- provide support external to the home such as transport for shopping, outing, appointments, doctors visits and the like.

**Mandatory Requirements**

**NDIS Worker screening - This can be obtained here**

**Other highly regarded**:

- Current First Aid and CPR
- NDIS worker orientation and induction modules certificates.
- Medication and manual handling
- Certificate III in Individual Support
- Current drivers licence

Similar industry experience and/or a qualifications in or working towards Certificate III or IV in Disability/Mental Health would be highly regarded and awarded.
