**Development Specialist, Sydney, NSW**

This is an amazing 6-month full time contract opportunity with possibility for extension

**Purpose of the Job**

The Development Specialist is responsible for setting and achieving fundraising and donor engagement goals. Will continuously analyze database to explore and devise new opportunities for fundraising, plan, execute fundraising strategies, and outreach initiatives.

This person will identify and engage potential new donors and develop existing ones to steward and cultivate long-term relationships with them, will work to continuously add new leads and potential donors through managing various events, fundraising and communication campaigns.

This person will act as the face of Coptic Orphans among various society networks and will forge partnerships with cause ambassadors, advocates and volunteers.

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
- Network and build relationships with potential and existing donors and businesses;
- Actively contribute to setting annual fundraising goal, long term development targets and work on implementing them;
- Continuously promote all different programs of Coptic Orphans;
- Develop and maintain good relationships with church and community leaders;
- Lead multiple outreach initiatives and fundraising campaigns across the year;
- Assist in managing galas and major events;
- Seek new opportunities to diversify funding sources;
- Manage relationship with major and top donor as well as maintaining their records;
- Experience in grant writing, corporate and/or planned giving is a plus
- Perform other Tasks as Necessary

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of professional experience.
- Fundraising, marketing or related experience.
- Excellent speaking/writing of English. Arabic reading and speaking skills is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and able to strategically implement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented with excellent follow up skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience with operating systems, CRM systems or contact management software such as Salesforce is highly regarded;
- Persuasive, polished and articulate communicator; must be comfortable whether face to face or on the telephone with stakeholders.
- Must be available for travel at times within Australia and potentially New Zealand, US & Egypt.
- Excellent teamwork, presentation and communication skills.
- A demonstrated passion for the organization and its cause.

**Travel Requirement**
- Available for travel throughout Australia, at times with little notice
