Machine Operator

Join a thriving market leading production network at Atex as a production operator. You will produce steel reinforcing for large projects across Sydney. On any given day you will custom process, assemble, load & record reinforcing steel to a just-in-time production plan. Today's steel production will be ready for delivery tomorrow, no single day is the same.

Your responsibilities include:

- Use specialised production machinery and cranes to shape and transform the reinforcing bars into custom-designed forms (full training provided)
- Manage machinery to produce required product quantity and form through engineering drawings
- Utilise computer-based production tracking software to ensure the production plan is followed & correct steel is produced for loading
- Safely perform loading and unloading task through forklift and crane operations
- Effectively work within a team environment to achieve production targets
- Take ownership of your machines results including output, downtime, quality & housekeeping

**About your experience**

It's important that you have a belief that success comes from a team approach as you will be joining a leading site operation.
- Previous background in manufacturing or production operations
- Ideally from the steel/heavy industry with previous machine or overhead crane operation experience
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous
- Good verbal, literacy, numeracy & computer skills
- Ability to learn quickly & be trained in new processes/systems
- Commitment to the quality of the product produced and the task you complete
- Able to champion safety operations and able to work autonomously and collaboratively to achieve team targets

**Salary**: From $35.00 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

- Riverstone, NSW 2765: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Machine operating: 1 year (preferred)
