**Job Description** The Opportunity**

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional**role, to join the Silverchain team in the Dandenong 3175 area.

We are looking for people who:

- Enjoy having variety in their day.

- Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
- Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

- A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- ** Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in aged care.**

**The role**

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

- General housekeeping and making beds
- Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
- Washing, folding and ironing laundry
- Meal preparation and grocery shopping
- Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
