**The Opportunity**
We are seeking to appoint a Knowledge Broker in the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies** as part of the **College of Sciences and Engineering at the University of Tasmania.
The Knowledge Broker is a named Specified Personnel role within the Australian Government National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Phase 2 Climate Systems Hub. The Climate Systems Hub will help shape national resilience through a climate research program targeting practical on-ground results integrated across Australia’s broader risk and resilience initiatives. The Climate Systems Hub will seek to further develop Australia’s climate science capability while working directly with adaptation practitioners.
Along with the UTAS partnership, the CSIRO led Hub also comprises the Bureau of Meteorology, ANU, UNSW, Uni of Melbourne, Monash University and a Community of Practice in Climate Science including Australia’s State and Territory environment departments. - Lead interaction with Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) key stakeholders and knowledge brokers as well as engaging with the knowledge brokers across other Hubs and Initiatives in collaboration with the Climate Adaptation Initiative Lead.
- Maintain close contact with the DCCEEW Science Partnerships (managers of the NESP program) team in undertaking knowledge brokering activities.

- Demonstrated experience, or evidence of ability to perform, as an effective knowledge broker.
- A record of identifying and connecting stakeholders, analysing user needs, and contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally.
- Experience and/or demonstrate ability in co-design of research and/or knowledge projects.
- Strong communication skills, including contributing to plain-English knowledge products and communications materials.
- Skills in managing or co-ordinating a team, including strategic and annual planning.
- Facilitating or participation in Indigenous engagement (desirable).
