Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Lead the Office of the Executive Director in the management and coordination of executive and ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, submissions and reports on complex policy issues, business priorities and other issues, including Cabinet submissions and matters for discussion with the Executive Director, departmental executives and other key public and private sector stakeholders. This includes ensuring the quality control of document preparation is of a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
- Manage and contribute to the business planning and corporate reporting activity and ensure fit for purpose governance arrangements are in place.
- Support the Executive Director and leadership team in managing emergent and sensitive topics and opportunities.
- Provide high level executive, administrative, human resource, financial and operational services and advice to the Executive Director, leadership team and business group.
- Maintain good communication with all staff involved in the delivery of services. This function
includes regular consultation and communication.
- Manage, monitor and report to the Executive Director and leadership team on business performance as it impacts on the government's outcomes and priorities under the department's Strategic and Corporate Plans. This function includes the preparation of formal corporate governance documents associated with budget management, risk management, corporate planning and annual reporting cycles.
- Act in a manner that is professional and adheres to the Code of Conduct and standards, and role model this for other staff and as a team member.
- Demonstrate commitment to the principles and practices of employment equity, ethical conduct and workplace health and safety.
- Other duties as directed and required.
