**Job description**

**The applicant resume must outline expirience supporting people with mental health conditions, AOD support needs and/or co-existing support needs. The applicant must demonstarate knowledge of harm reduction approach and support strategies.**

We are looking for Mental Health support workers, expirienced supporting people with mental health conditions and substance dependancy. Shifts are available in various location: Chatswood, Ryde, Eastwood, Normanhurst, Parramatta, Waterloo, Bondi areas. Potentially workers can pick up to 25 hours per week, Experience in supporting people with mental health conditions or undertaking courses related to disability industry/mental health/social work/psychology are essential. Expirience working in trauma informed care is highly desirable.

**Hours of work**:
Morning/afternoon/evening shifts. Potentialy can be increased up to 25 hours per week.

**The responsibilities include**:
Building rapport, engaging participant in daily life activities, appointments and community participation

Providing companionship and emotional support, transporting clients to and from appointments, recreational activities, or other sites that they required.

Assisting client with developing daily living skills and home-based activities, such as housekeeping, minor cleaning, meal preparation, grocery shopping.

Assistance with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies implementation

Assisting clients to achieve their goals and enhance their independence

Reporting service progression, observation and incident reporting in professional, timely and accurate manner

**To successfully perform this role, you will need**:
Certificate of Mental Health or equivalent or willingness to enrol or presently studying related field.

Experience supporting people with mental health conditions, AOD support needs and/or co-existing support needs is necessary

Expirience and understanding of risks assessment, incident reporting, timely progress notes

Have a sufficient knowledge about harm reduction approach and supportive strategies

Understanding and following Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures

Understanding and implementing the concept of professional boundaries and ethical behaviour

Understanding triggers and being familiar with a behaviour support plan (desirable)

Mental Health First Aid (desirable)

**Essential requirements**:
National Police check

Working With Children Check

NDIS Screening check (or willigness to apply)

First Aid Certification

Australian Driver’s License and access to a reliable and insured car

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $33.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 20 per week

Supplementary Pay:
