Yum Sing House, a premier restaurant located in the vibrant city of Melbourne, Australia. Nestled in the heart of the city, Yum Sing House takes you on a culinary journey through the flavours of modern Asian cuisine, offering an unforgettable dining experience.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced wait staff and a bonus if you are an allrounder. As a wait staff, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional guest experiences. This position primarily requires availability on Friday and Saturday nights, offering a flexible work schedule.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Customer Service and Guest Interaction**:

- **Warm Welcome**: Greet guests promptly, making them feel valued. Understand and anticipate guests' needs while maintaining professionalism.
- **Menu Knowledge**: Be well-versed in the menu, including specials, dietary restrictions, and ingredients, to make informed recommendations.
- **Upselling**: Recommend premium dishes, wines, and other items.
- **3 Plates**:Must be able to carry 3 plates comfortably

**2. Food and Beverage Service**:

- **Accurate and Timely Order Taking**: Ensure orders are taken correctly, serve food and beverages, timing courses while monitoring guests’ pace.
- **Wine Service**: Knowledge of wine pairing, pouring techniques, and maintaining etiquette for premium wine service.
- **Table Setting and Maintenance**: Set up tables according to the venue’s standards.
- **Cleanliness**: Ensure tables and service areas are clean and tidy.
- **Observant Service**: Monitor the table discreetly, refilling drinks, clearing plates, and attending to any requests without interrupting the guest experience.

**3. Coordination, Teamwork and Problem-Solving**:

- **Collaboration with Kitchen and Bar Staff**: Work closely with chefs and bartenders to ensure timely and accurate service, including dealing with any kitchen delays or issues.
- **Quick Adaptation**: Handle unexpected situations, such as last-minute changes to orders or guest preferences, with poise and efficiency.
- **Multitasking**: Manage multiple tables, ensuring a seamless experience for all guests.

**4. Professionalism and Presentation**:

- **Appearance**: Maintain a polished, professional appearance at all times, adhering to the venue’s dress code.
- **Demeanour**: Exhibit composure, even in high-pressure situations, and maintain a calm, friendly, and courteous attitude.

**5. Expectations**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a wait staff in a fast-paced premium casual environment, preferably with a focus on Asian and/or Cantonese cuisine.
- A passion for food and beverage with a sound understanding of wines is preferred.
- Proven ability to consistently deliver warm and attentive guest experience while working under pressure.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate efficiently.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly restaurant.
