Butcher

Recruiting on behalf of Chokr Pty Ltd.
Located in Black Snake, QLD 4600 is looking for an experienced butcher to join their team in a busy retail store.

MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat.
- Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter.
- Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
- Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, veal, lamb and fish.
- Estimate requirements and order or requisition meat supplies to maintain inventories.
- Supervise other butchers or meat cutters.
- Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat quality and that it is Halal certified.
- Record quantity of meat received and issued to cooks and/ or keep records of meat sales.
- Shape, lace, and tie roasts, using boning knife, skewer, and twine.
- Cure, smoke, tenderize and preserve meat.
- Total sales and collect money from customers.

SKILLS & EXPEREINCE:

- Qualifications: formal training or certificate III in Butcher or relevant field
- Experience: At least two years’ experience as a Butcher/Meat Processing Industry.
- Skills: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of HALAL
- Experience in WHS and use of equipment

Pay: From $76,515.00 per year
