Located in Black Snake, QLD 4600 is looking for an experienced butcher to join their team in a busy retail store.

MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat.
• Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
• Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, pork, poultry, veal, lamb and fish.
• Estimate requirements and order or requisition meat supplies to maintain inventories.
• Supervise other butchers or meat cutters.
• Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat quality and that it is Halal certified.
• Record quantity of meat received and issued to cooks and/ or keep records of meat sales.
• Shape, lace, and tie roasts, using boning knife, skewer, and twine.
• Cure, smoke, tenderize and preserve meat.
• Total sales and collect money from customers.

SKILLS & EXPEREINCE:

• Qualifications: formal training or certificate III in Butcher or relevant field
• Experience: At least two years' experience as a Butcher/Meat Processing Industry.
• Skills: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of HALAL
• Experience in WHS and use of equipment
