Divisional Management Role

A great opportunity to join a growing business to set up and lead a specialist Open Space / Grounds division to operate across the Eastern States of Australia. Currently they manage the delivery of Facilities Management services to clients in the Government, Tertiary Education, Aged Care, Transport, Leisure and Corporate sectors.

You will have over 8 years’ experience working within Open Space / Landscaping / Tree Lopping with knowledge of pest and vermin control, hard and soft landscape maintenance and repair. Strong experience in managing teams of labourers and trades working across large single contracts or multiple smaller contracts within the Commercial, Industrial, Leisure or Government sectors.

You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills able to lead Quarterly Reviews, Monthly Meetings, Subcontractor Meetings, Contract Review Meetings, and grow contracts through effective Business Development.

While operating from a Melbourne base, Interstate travel may be required.

**Base Criteria**
Tertiary or Trade qualification in Horticulture, ideally with additional management training / qualifications. 5-10 years Open Space / Grounds Management experience.

**Outline Duties**
Provide Open Space maintenance and upkeep activities. Business Development - leading the growth of this division. Managing direct staff and sub-contractors across Lawn-mowing, Landscaping, Weed Control, Drainage / Irrigation, Tree Lopping and Minor Improvement Works.

**Skills and Attributes**
- Strong Open Space maintenance and construction activities, including: - Tree Planting and Maintenance; Sports Grounds Turf management (to specific Professional Code standards); Regional Parks, Playgrounds; Active and Passive Recreation Parks; Landscaping, Bush Regeneration, Lakes, Showgrounds and CBD’s.
- Excellent Business Development skills, able to source new opportunities, lead Bid / RFP responses and be a key interface throughout the whole tender cycle.
- Hands On, (“doer” not talker) who can commit to site walk-rounds, visits and inspections and be a visible member of senior management
- You will be accountable for the delivery of annual operational plans, policies, budgets and strategies for the Open Space Maintenance unit
