We are seeking a values-driven Truck Driver who will provide support to the Store Managers.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Truck Driver who will provide support to the Store Managers in providing adequate pickup and delivery service for the Family Store in line with the Salvation Army mission and values.

You will successfully
- Coordinate the pickup and delivery of all donated goods in accordance with written schedule, following Workplace Health and Safety Manual Handling procedures and other protocols
- Assist in co-ordinating all furniture, goods and clothing being delivered to the Family Store by the public and Family Store vehicle, to retail or storage area
- Operate the vehicle in a safe and effective manner in order to minimise the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life and ensure appropriate maintenance/service and cleanliness of vehicle
- Ensure appropriate maintenance and service of vehicle, liaising with Line Manager for any updates, services as required
- Provide Retail Floor Assistance and Assist with maintaining cleanliness at the store as needed
- Assist with providing support to volunteers as required
- Demonstrates a supportive approach to assisting other staff members/volunteers
- Raise any incidents, hazards and near misses to your Line Manager, and ensuring reporting through TSA systems in line with TSA policy and procedures
- Assist with completing administrative paperwork as required and as relevant to the role
- Additional duties as determined by the Store Manager/Line Manager/Corps Officer

This is a permanent, full-time role located in Nambour, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award.

You will have
- An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
- Minimum 1 year experience in driving and/or operating commercial vehicles
- Experience in the recycling/transport industry is desirable
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Current valid Driver’s Licence
- A national police record check is required
- Knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace
- Incumbent needs to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to carry out the duties of this position
