**Role responsibilities**
As a Procurement Officer, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- providing internal stakeholders with guidance and training on Procurement Policy & Procedure requirements;
- delivering compliance reporting against government legislation and policy frameworks;
- maintaining procurement documentation including templates;
- providing advice, support and/or training on procurement policies and practices;
- playing a role in continuous improvement processes and be proactive in implementing change; and
- supervising, guiding, and mentoring junior staff within the Finance and Procurement Branch.
**Key skills and qualifications**
We are seeking the following key skills and qualifications:
- prior experience (commensurate with level) in a procurement‑related area
- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contract Management, or a willingness to acquire relevant qualifications.
**Key attributes**
- A logical mind with strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and an aptitude for finance related tasks;
- strong Microsoft Office experience, specifically; Excel spreadsheet manipulation for budget management, costing, data analysis and reporting;
- experience in managing and coaching staff;
- well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including a strong attention to detail;
- strong interpersonal and liaison skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
- highly effective and flexible work prioritisation skills, including the ability to maintain a forward work program, meet deadlines, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

**Eligibility**
To be eligible for the role, you must:
- be an Australian citizen; and
- be assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a Positive Vetting security clearance prior to commencing in the role.

**Preferred location**
The preferred location is Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
