**Position**:
Field technician, engineer or scientist

**Reporting**:
Operations supervisor

***Position Description**:
***The incumbent will conduct field activities, including operation of testing and inspection equipment, under the supervision/instruction of a supervising Engineer or Scientist. This in turn may require downloading and collation of data, and production of brief and accurate reports.

The role is based in Sydney and may involve intrastate and interstate travel.

The incumbent will provide scientific and/or engineering support for research and development projects, NDT testing and analysis, investigation projects involving assessment of water and wastewater pipeline condition and related work.

Experienced professionals are welcome to apply. Remuneration will be adjusted depending on the applicant’s experience and skills.

**Key Duties**:
***Operate measurement equipment and acquire data from the field
- Calibration and configuration of NDT equipment
- Acquire GPS data
- Procuring soil samples
- Assist in the analysis and preparation of technical reports based on the acquired data
- Support to team administration and development
- Assist in maintenance of equipment
- Other tasks as directed
- Maintaining and working in a safe and environmentally friendly workplace

**Key Performance Indicators**

***Delivery of assigned tasks to planned time and quality
- Compliance with ADE Policies, Practices and Procedures
- Work health, safe and environment awareness towards the worker, colleagues and community
- Follow reasonable instructions and use equipment provided by the company

**Qualifications**:
TAFE or tertiary qualifications in science or engineering or in the process of acquiring a qualification

**Skills**

***Familiar with inspection and non-destructive techniques (NDT) is preferable
- Familiar with commonly used business software; including MS Office products
- Familiar with database and GIS tools
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding data management skills
- Experience in the water industry or pipeline industry is preferable
- Outstanding written and spoken English skills
- Good report writing skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Australian driving license
