**Job Summary**

The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. You will be responsible for overseeing company budgeting and forecasting, and developing accounting procedures. The Accounting Manager will analyze financial data to advise and support senior management on financial decisions.

This position is to be based in Syndey, AUS.

**Essential Functions**
- Manages professional-level accounting functions and the preparation of reports including earnings, profits/losses, cash balances, and cost accounting.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Confirms the accuracy of operating and financial reports.
- Advises upper management regarding matters, such as effective use of resources and methods, for preventing capital from being frozen.
- Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.
- Presents recommendations to senior management on short
- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Thorough knowledge of AUS and NZ taxes (GST)
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred (IPA, CPA, or ICAA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience using multiple software platforms simultaneously
