Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager (Engineering & Asset Management) is responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies which drive earnings growth and supports the wider Engineering & Asset Management division. This includes supporting daily operations, developing and communicating business cases, negotiation with suppliers and external parties and leading major projects and initiatives.

Working together with the Head of Finance & Commercial, the role is responsible for leading the commercial function across the division, analysing data to gain insights, and supporting the wider finance capabilities to ensure ongoing continuous improvement.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support the Engineering & Asset Management leadership team to ensure both financial and operational outcomes are achieved through the supplier base, capital projects, and utilities areas.
- Act as the key commercial point of contact for the Engineering & Asset Management team and other senior stakeholders across the Melbourne Airport business.
- Collaborate with diverse teams across the group to drive divisional level profitability metrics
- Drive commercial outcomes and earnings growth at both a divisional and organisational wide level.
- Support the preparation of multi-year budgets and forecasts for the Engineering & Asset Management and provide input on underlying assumptions and drivers.
- Communicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations
- Responsible for overview of financial outcomes for capital project business cases including financial analysis, NPV assessment and assisting in project prioritisation.
- Assist the corporate finance and planning team in the planning and forecasting required in the Long-Term Model process
- Project leader on major strategic initiatives for the Engineering & Asset Management business.

**Attributes that we think will suit the role**:

- Deep experience in a commercial role across either professional services or a relevant industry role.
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint Skills with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.
- High level of commercial acumen which is supported by a strong analytical and problem-solving skillset.
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with an ability to build rapport across functions.
- Demonstrated ability in developing productive relationships and managing and driving change.
- Chartered Accountant (‘CA’) or Certified Practicing Accountant (‘CPA’) preferred.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (i.e. Bachelor of Commerce / Management / Business).
