Blind Assembly

**About the business and the role**

Accent Blinds in Queensland is a very well established manufacturing business based in Nerang on the Gold Coast. We are looking for a committed individual to help with our Blind production. This will be a **permanent position**.

**Job tasks and responsibilities**

This will be Mon-Fri 7.30am-3.30pm.

Your main duties would involve:

- Organising and prioritising jobs to cut for the day
- Collecting fabric required for daily cutting
- Cutting roller fabric skins ready for roller assembly
- Tagging, bagging and putting away fabric

Other duties would involve:

- Checking for fabric flaws and cutting around
- Find fabric offcuts to save cost
- Clear out obsolete fabrics
- Checking-in fabrics received from time to time
- Ensure cutting blades are maintained and kept sharp
- Book yearly machine servicing
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Other tasks as directed

You will be expected to learn all other aspects of roller assembly also, from cutting to assembly and packing.

**Pay**

$31.00/hr + Super

**Skills and experience**
- You need to be able to work in a team environment
- Be able to stand for long periods of time
- Have own car and licence
- Quick with your hands, and have an eye for detail
- Be a motivated individual with the ability to learn new tasks quickly

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week

**Experience**:

- Blind Assembly: 1 year (preferred)
