**About the Role**

The role of a Disability Support Worker is to support clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities. Additionally, this role may involve providing in-home support for clients. As an integral part of our team, you'll be encouraged to utilise your passion and skills to support our clients to grow, develop, heal and feel empowered.

**About You**:

- Experience with high-needs Disability clients and previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, supporting participants across ages from youth to elderly
- Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities
- Genuine desire to support people with additional needs using a person-centered approach

**Essential Requirements**:

- Minimum nationally accredited completion of Certificate 4 and above in Disability or Community Service field
- Minimum of 1 year work experience as a House Leader
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with children and teenagers in Out of Home Care or Foster carer programs, ITC or Disability settings.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Employee Working with Children Check
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates
- Valid Australian driver's license (with a reliable and comprehensively insured car)
- Experience Working with high needs vulnerable young people who have experienced significant trauma and understanding how this effects their behaviour and emotional needs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22 - 38 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends
- Shift work
- Weekend availability

**Education**:

- Certificate I - IV (preferred)

**Experience**:

- House/Team Leader: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Australian Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Location: In person
