About us
The Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a maximum-security remand facility based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Prisoners on remand are alleged offenders who were not bailed when charged with a crime and are awaiting the outcome of their court case.
About the role

**In this role, you will**:

- coordinate and supervise the Stores and Canteen operations and provision of high-quality services to MRC staff and prisoners
- deliver justice services and maintain accurate, confidential records and provide statistical reports in line with agreed standards and local operating procedures
- supervise and manage a team of business services staff including recruitment, training, mentoring, professional development and performance management; maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective services to the prison
- coordinate stock purchasing as per relevant financial delegation guidelines, oversee stock movement & disposal, updating of records on SPEND, PIMS and other relevant systems, prepare stock estimates, ensure regular stocktakes are undertaken, and the Stores and Prisoner Shop are maintained in good order
- contribute to the review and monitoring of purchasing, distribution and other relevant procedures and practices within the MRC, develop new and improve existing processes and procedures
- liaise with prison and Corrections Victoria personnel, customers and external suppliers on issues related to purchasing and service provision.

About you
- well-developed computer literacy and demonstrated knowledge and appropriate experience in stores, warehousing and procurement services
- good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations
- excellent customer focus, people management and interpersonal skills.

This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

**Acceptable evidence includes**:

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
