**About the role**

Lead innovative waste and sustainability initiatives with real community impact You’ll manage the planning and delivery of Council’s Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) Program and oversee circular economy projects, driving service improvements and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance waste management across the Council.
- Key Responsibilities:_
- Deliver waste and resource recovery projects that support Council’s sustainability goals.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
- Work with Finance to track budgets and maintain accurate waste-related financial data.
- Coordinate communication and engagement with internal teams, community stakeholders, and partners.
- Manage contractors, consultants, and service providers to achieve quality outcomes.
- Support and supervise staff to ensure projects meet objectives and standards.
- Lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives across Council services.

**About the person**

We’re looking for a motivated professional with the skills and experience to lead waste and sustainability projects across Council.
- What you’ll bring:_
- A degree in Environment, Sustainability, Project Management, Business, or similar
- Experience in waste management, contract management, tender development, or service delivery.
- Proven experience managing contracts and projects, ideally within local government or the public sector.
- Strong understanding of Council operations, regulations, and decision-making processes.
- Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills, with experience supervising staff.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from** $125,147 to $143,920**plus super.
