We are seeking an experienced, transformational **Chief Financial Officer** to join our team at Singleton Council. In this role, you’ll make a real impact on the everyday lives of people within our community by achieving important outcomes for Singleton to grow and flourish.

**THE ROLE**

Based in Singleton, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for leading the Financial Services Business Unit and supporting Singleton Council leaders with financial decision-making. The CFO will lead and contribute to shaping a strategic vision, inspiring an organisational culture that delivers the Council's Long Term Financial Plan and driving organisational efficiency in a way that delivers on long term strategic goals.

The CFO will safeguard Singleton Council’s financial health and take end to end responsibility for its budget and expenditures to align them to our financial strategy. The CFO ensures that the organisation has the tools and capability to plan and test future financial scenarios and lead decision makers in interpreting those scenarios.

The CFO will ensure that decision makers are fully informed, and challenged, about the financial implications of their decisions and understand viable alternative options, ensuring all finance professionals provide a valuable business partnering service to deliver financial aims.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- A bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance or commerce
- A Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant qualification
- Significant experience leading the financial management of an organisation
- Strong background in driving transformation and strategy to inform financial decision making.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and standardise delivery of financial management outcomes including improvements in capabilities, accountabilities, processes and systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience influencing and negotiating with all levels within the organisation

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis. A generous remuneration package including car allowance and 10.5% superannuation is on offer for the right person.
